You will be the personnel officer for the Coalition Military Assistance Training Teams, under the Coalition Provisional Authority, building the New Iraqi Army (NIA). After having sent Marines down-range to Kosovo and Bosnia when I was a Major I knew that I would eventually be sending Marines to Iraq this time I was going to be able to say I ve been there. Upon arrival in the Green Zone I realized my primary job in Iraq would be recruiting soldiers for the NIA.

Lt. Col Patricia Brasier is a retired Marine who at one time had the responsibility of recruiting Iraqi men for training with the New Iraqi Army the Iraqi Armed Forces that are currently working side-by-side with U.S. and Coalition Forces, taking on the huge task of ensuring Iraq s national security. Lt. Col Brasier had no prior experience with recruiting having served as a personnel/adjutant and as a military police officer. Upon graduation from the U.S. Army War College she was mobilized in support of the Global War on Terrorism. At the time Lt. Col Brasier deployed her sons were 15 and 16 years old.
