Wendy Conklin holds a Master of Arts degree in Gifted Education. She has written educational books for Teacher Created Materials and other well-known educational publishing companies. She authored The Great Depression: Exploring History through Primary Sources, which won the National Association for Gifted Children Curriculum Award in 2003. She was also a contributing author to the award wining series Primary Source Readers, which won the Golden Lamp Award in 2005. Both of these works were published by Teacher Created Materials. In addition to her work as a freelance writer, the author has worked with children in educational settings for several years, including traditional classroom settings, enrichment classes, and online courses for the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University.
