About the Author:

Manuel Castells is Professor of Sociology and Professor ofCity and Regional Planning at the University of California,Berkeley, and Professor of the Information Society at the OpenCatalan University (UOC), in Barcelona.


Martin Ince is a freelance journalist and contributingeditor of the Times Higher Education Supplement where he wasformerly deputy editor. This is his eighth book..
