About the Author

Sam Llewellyn is the author of some 20 novels, most of them related to boats and the sea, including Dead Reckoning, Blood Orange, Riptide and Clawhammer. He has spent much of his life in, on or under the water, and has owned a "distressing number of sailboats" in waters ranging from the Baltic to Puget Sound, the Far East to the Great Lakes.
