Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the year the Beatles arrived in America, Jim DeRogatis began voicing his opinions about rock 'n' roll shortly thereafter. He is currently the pop music critic at the Chicago Sun-Times and a contributor to Penthouse, Guitar World, World of Wrestling, and the Launch and Impression web sites, amongst other publications. Together with Greg Kot - Siskel to his Ebert - he co-hosts Sound Opinions, the world's only rock 'n' roll talk show, on Wxrt-Fm. His first book, Kaleidoscope Eyes: Psychedelic Rock from the 60s to the 90s, was published in 1996
