Synopsis
In pursuit of a private vendetta, the young Niccolo Machiavelli leaves his beloved Florence in the grips of the fanatical friar, Savonarola, and travels to Rome only to be lured into the service of Pope Alexander VI and his ambitious son Cesare. This new employment will lead him into some surprising situations, and the more Machiavelli probes, the more sinister the plots and intrigues become. With his own life now under threat, the only way to save himself is to out scheme the schemers.
