"a beautiful discussion of the progression of our understanding of the physical world and universe. The book is ideally suited to provide a scientific background for university students not majoring in science." Professor. David Lee (Nobel Laureate in Physics) call the book -- Professor. David Lee (Nobel Laureate in Physics), Cornell University "Last week I was in ski holidays and had the book (just started) with me... But after less than 50 minutes of skiing the first morning I had a little accident which stopped me from further skiing... so I finished the book while my family had the best weather ever during any of our ski-holidays ! I knew most of its facts - except the poems- already before but it is really well researched, easy to read and a good refresher on part of the human scienific adventure, so my true congratulations....." -- CERN reader "a masterful synthesis of humanity's long search to understand the deep workings of the universe. Richly illustrated and expertly told, you want to read this book slowly to savour our species' bold and creative attempts to understand our place in the cosmos." -- Prof. Brian Greene, Columbia University, author of "The Elegant Universe"
