Naughty Nancy lives deep in the forest with her dog, Sniffer, the dog that can find anything made of gold. One day a new king is declared, and he has the shiniest thing of all—a new crown! When Nancy and Sniffer engineer a humorous heist, they get more than they bargain for, and their lives will never be the same.

Roger Abbott has written many short stories, poems and a novel for adults. This is his first book for Kingfisher. From School Library Journal:
Grade 1-2–Naughty Nancy's bloodhound has been trained to find anything made of gold for his owner. When he steals the crown of the new king, Nancy wears it to bed, and it sticks to her head. The soldiers come looking for it, arrest her, and take her back to the castle, where the king falls in love with her and asks her to marry him. She agrees, and abruptly stopped being naughty. She realized what a bad person she had been. She was truly sorry and returned all of her stolen things. Cheerful cartoon illustrations can't rescue this weak, silly plot.–Laura Scott, Farmington Community Library, MI
