About the Authors
Judith Draper has been a horse and pony enthusiast since she was a little girl, and she is an accomplished writer of books and articles about horses. In 1999, Judith was named Equestrian Writer of the Year by the British Horse Society. She is also the author of Kingfisher's My First Horse and Pony Book.
Elwyn Hartley Edwards contributed to My First Horse and Pony Care Book from Kingfisher.
MATTHEW ROBERTS is Lecturer in Modern British History at Sheffield Hallam University, UK.

Grade 2–4—This attractive book covers much the same material as Cherry Hill's Horse Care for Kids (Storey, 2002), but for younger readers. Draper focuses on pony breeds commonly used in the United Kingdom and on English-style riding and tack. The information about feeding, grooming, and riding is detailed, accurate, and accessible. There are lots of helpful safety tips and a short, helpful glossary. The photographs are beautiful and in sharp focus. Many of the color schemes tend toward pastel blues, pinks, and purples, and one pony is shown wearing a hot pink blanket.
