In this third collection of tales about troublesome character Jeremy James, Jeremy doesn't have a haircut at the barber's, goes to a birthday party, falls in a river on a fishing trip, meets a battle-axe, creates chaos at the Nativity play, and hides cousin Melissa's violin in the goldfish pond.

Narrator Andy Crane is quite young, and it's to his advantage as he delivers this story filled with a large number of young characters. The main character, Jeremy James, fears getting his hair cut by a bald manŠa perfectly logical fear for a child. Crane portrays the fears of the little boy splendidly. Jeremy James's tiny, playpen-bound siblings are quite realistically "quoted." His mother, scattered father and battle-ax theater director are also humorously handled by Crane, who portrays them from a child's perspective. This series is geared for young readers. Parents will also get a few laughs as they join in family story hour. S.G.B. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
