This fabulously illustrated history relates what daily life was really like for ordinary U.S. servicemen on the frontlines of World War II. Archival photos are accompanied by quotes from veterans and an authoritative history spanning the broad gamut of home sickness, coping with periods of boredom and drudgery, rest and relaxation, hospitalization, and life in POW camps.
