About the Author Kevin Forest Moreau was born in Baptist Hospital in New Orleans (a city where such things matter a great deal), and is a lifelong native of the New Orleans area. As a child, he began banging out stories on a portable electric typewriter and producing crude comic books before he could walk. He found his calling as a freelance writer early in life, slipping unsolicited manuscripts under the door of his high school newspaper's office in the dead of night (they printed every one). After majoring in English Literature at the University of New Orleans, Kevin pursued his restless muse through a couple of ragtag rock-and-roll bands and performances in a couple of "experimental" theater plays, all the while holding odd jobs (telephone solicitor, comic book store clerk, graveyard-shift number-cruncher for a major vacuum cleaner corporation). Warm responses to those early artistic endeavors prompted his return to his true love, heeding the dictum, "Those who can't, write about those who can." A freelance writer and journalist since 1996, Kevin is a former pop music critic for Gambit Weekly newspaper and is currently music editor and associate content producer for neworleans.citysearch.com. Kevin lives in the historic Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans with his fiancée, two dogs, and a cat.
