About the Author

Until recently, Patricia Simpson hailed from the moody shores of the Puget Sound, where writing paranormal suspense novels was a natural consequence of living in the mist and rain. When not at home, Ms. Simpson could be found shaking out her bumbershoot at the local Starbucks Coffee House.

Since her marriage to a Scotsman (yes, a real livewire Scot just like those heroes in her novels!), she resided in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California, where she is learned to rollerblade and rediscovered the sun. She currently lives in Alabama.

Reviews

Claire Coulter expects the worse when she is called into the office of Tobias Benton, the billionaire owner of the company she works for; however, he offers her a chance of a lifetime instead. Tobias will fund the kidney transplant her brother needs if she helps him find a fountain of youth in California. He has an ancient map and has hired a guide through the mountains. Jack Hughes does not want to lead an expedition, but he needs the money. As the journey on horseback proceeds, Claire is uncomfortable with Tobias' unwanted attention, and finds herself attracted to Jack even though he ignores her. Claire finds comfort in the unusual tarot cards her friend gave her before the trip, and before the journey is over, Claire and Jack must learn to trust each other if they are to survive. Simpson creates an engaging supernatural romance in which modern heroes confront an ancient form of evil. Patty Engelmann
