Gr 6-10-This compact volume traces the rise of unions, working conditions, and the economic depression of the 1890s that led up to this pivotal labor dispute. Stein brings the period to life by introducing the personalities of key figures in the drama, such as George Pullman, Richard Olney, Eugene Debs, and Clarence Darrow. Sidebars with source documentation and archival photographs, maps, and reproductions round out the presentation.
