About the Author:

Dr. Elaine Pigeon received her Ph.D. in English Studies from the Universite de Montreal, Montreal, Qubec. She specializes in 19th and 20th century Anglo-American literature with an emphasis on gender and sexuality. She is a lecturer in the English Department at Concordia University and Universite de Montreal, where she teaches composition, language and literature.
