HBJ Shakespeare was developed in response to a growing need for an integrated language arts and student-centered approach to the study of Shakespeare. By providing a wide range of writing, speaking, listing, viewing and independent project activities that allow for personal and creative response, the series assists students in recognizing both the accessibility of Shakespeare in ways meaningful to them. Activities encourage students to further explore the issues they considered before and during their reading of the scenes. An Overview of the Teacher's Guide: Section II of this guide offers strategies for presenting HBJ Shakespeare and for presenting a play in a condensed time period (approximately 3-5 weeks).
