Taken from "Vanessa-Mae, British Violinist" When Vanessa-Mae was just eight years old, she had to make a big decision. She was equally gifted at both the violin and the piano, but she had to concentrate on just one instrument. Although she had just won a prize at the British Young Pianist of the Year Competition, Vanessa-Mae chose the violin. At the age of nine, Vanessa-Mae went to Germany to take violin classes for advanced students. The best students were chosen for a series of recitals. Most of the students were chosen to be part of the recitals only once or twice. Vanessa-Mae was chosen four times. These were her first performances in front of an audience.Review:
