Stephen King’s epic saga continues in this third volume. The world has, for the most part, shuffled off its mortal coil, and our intrepid survivors are starting to realize their dreams may be a bit more than phantom fears. Nick encounters Tom Cullen, and the pair heads to Nebraska; Mother Abigail reminisces about her very long life; Stu and Frannie find that they want each other after all; and Larry meets the enigmatic Nadine Cross. The tension is well drawn out, as usual, with quick scene changes and dramatic art. Readers of the series can’t afford to miss this volume. --Tina Coleman
