Review
Just what is corkscrewing? Major Helen "Prissy" Prescott should know, because she's the one who supposedly invented this infamous sexual act. Helen, who's been mistaken for a notorious Mexican desperado's girlfriend, has a lot on her mind, and figuring out how to corkscrew is the least of her worries. She has been transported back in time to California during the gold rush with Rafael Santiago, the most infuriating, yet sexiest scoundrel the National Guard has ever known. Helen wants Rafe to know that she's in charge, but Rafe's too macho to let a woman boss him around, especially a woman who looks like a Vargas painting come to life and who is far too distracting to take seriously.

Even back in military school Rafe and Helen had crushes on each other. Now, twelve years later, Rafael Santiago has to serve in the National Guard and Helen Prescott is his commanding officer. Their once romantic affection has now become a sexual heat between them. A skydiving mishap, however, soon transports Rafe and Helen, and their attraction, into 1850 California. From bandits, to miners, to gold panning, 1850 holds it's own unique adventures for these two lovers. But when they parachute back to their own time, they must face the most desperate fight of all. The battle to save their love. Sandra Hill's writing is fabulous! Her characters are 'real characters' whose sexual innuendo is so spicy and lively that I couldn't help but laugh and chuckle at their constant repartee! I always look forward to a book by Sandra Hill because I know it will be a great read, and so far she hasn't let me down! Keep 'em coming Sandra!
