Grade 1-3?Andy and Scott are new neighbors, and as the boys play together, it becomes obvious that Andy is used to getting his own way. An only child who up to now has been home schooled, he is pushy, indulged, and temperamental. Andy's first week of second grade in a public school is a real struggle as he must get used to all of the rules and the fact that other children need the teacher's attention. The boys come up with a plan to help Andy know when he is doing something inappropriate. In the end, he succeeds and is allowed to stay in the second grade. This amusing story will hit home with many young readers. The message is bibliotherapeutic and the illustrations are simple and amusing. This is an excellent choice for newly independent readers, but will also be popular with teachers looking for a selection to read aloud to younger students.?William C. Heckman, Lake Forest Elementary, Hollywood, FL
