Now available in paperback!

Don't you wish golf on the course was as easy as golf on the practice range? Don't you wish you could bring your range game to the course? Now you can, thanks to a golf psychiatrist and a top golf teacher. You can drive off the tee the way you do on the range--you can also putt under pressure just as accurately as you putt on your carpet. You can hit out of the sand in a tight match the same way you hit over land.

Shrink Your Handicap solves your golf problems with the help of Phil Lee, behavioral psychiatrist, and Jeff Warne, a Golf magazine Top 100 instructor, who together have formed a unique collaboration that shows readers how to overcome the mental obstacles that keep them from playing their best . . . every day.

About the Author:

Phil Lee, M.D., is Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Weill Medical College at Cornell University. He specializes in performance enhancement, with offices in New York City, Westchester, and Amgansett, NY.

Jeff Warne is Director of Instruction at Atlantic Golf Club, Bridgehampton, NY, and is Lead Instructor with the Jim McLean Golf School at Doral.

From Library Journal:

There certainly is no shortage of books to help golfers alter their swings and improve their game. The authors of this book assert that while practicing golf swings is worthwhile, it is the psychological and behavioral aspects of the golfer that deserve attention. Behavioral psychiatrist Lee and golf instructor Warne are well matched to write about this topic. They claim that many golfers play beneath their potential because they allow anxiety to affect their swing and offer offers numerous cognitive and imagery techniques to alleviate this problem. Time, however, must be taken to absorb and practice these techniques. A golfer in a hurry to fix his or her game will not enjoy the book, although someone willing to spend time understanding the material will find it useful. Recommended for larger public libraries.
