Ann Burack-Weiss, DSW, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Columbia University School of Social Work and a licensed clinical social worker in New York State. She is a founding Partner and Co-Director of SBW Partners, a firm that offers consultation, supervision, and training in the field of aging. Dr. Burack-Weiss is the author of The Caregiver's Tale: Loss and Renewal in Memoirs of Family Life and numerous chapter and journal articles as well as co-author of Social Work Practice with the Frail Elderly and Their Families; First Encounters Between Elders and Agencies: A Practice Guide; and the first edition of Gerontological Social Work Supervision (Haworth). Her three decades of gerontological experience include practice, supervisory, and administrative positions.
Frances Coyle Brennan, MSSW, is the Director of Social Services at the Mary Manning Walsh Home in New York City a licensed clinical social worker in New York State. A former Adjunct Lecturer at the Columbia University School of Social Work, she is currently associated with Fordham University. Dr. Brennan has over three decades of experience with the elderly in community and institutional settings, including supervisory and administrative positions at the Jewish Home and Hospital.
