Kindergarten-Grade 2-Each of these appealing books introduces youngsters to 13 pieces of fine art. In the first, they are asked to look for cats in paintings by such artists as Renoir, Brueghel, Klee, and Miro. In the second, readers are to find dogs in the works of Degas, Bonnard, Picasso, etc. The format is clean and uncluttered with large print and lots of white space on the left opposite an excellent quality, full-color reproduction on the right. For the most part, the text is simple enough for beginning readers, but some of the animals are easier to spot than others.
