Henry the animated lizard learns that desert life is no day at the beach when he shows up for this lesson with a float ring and no water supply. Just how do animals survive in the desert? More ways than you or your kids might think. Sometimes it's as simple as staying underground during the day (and eating your compatriots when you get desperate for moisture), as scorpions do, or running really fast across the hot sand, as some rodents (and barefooted humans) do. Survival can look pretty goofy, as with the lizard who keeps only two feet on the ground at a time. In addition to cannibalistic arachnids and hopping rodents and reptiles, there's plenty of footage of camels and snakes in this video, which proves the dictionary wrong when it says a desert is incapable of supporting almost any animal life.
