Welcome back for more hilarious misadventures of the BBC's favorite social climber, Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced "Bouquet," of course!). From her enthusiastic volunteering for any occasion (even when she's not needed!) to casting herself in the role of Queen Henrietta Maria in the local pageant, Hyacinth is a whirlwind force not to be reckoned with.
The set contains:
ANYBODY BUT HYACINTH
The Nautical Speaker - Hyacinth is of to the train station to pick up an internationally famous round-the-world yachtsman called the Commodore and drive him to the Ladies Luncheon Club. But all her outrageous planning on how to ingratiate herself with the old sea dog come to naught when she cannot seem to locate him.
Historical Pageant - Proudly armed with her new mobile phone, Hyacinth embarks upon the organization of her pageant entitled "Our Town in the Civil War." When all the volunteers mysteriously fail to show up, Hyacinth is forced to recruit her own family as the necessary Cavaliers and Roundheads, casting herself as the Queen (of course!).
Seaside Fun - Hyacinth enthusiastically volunteers to take some senior citizens to a seaside pleasure beach. But her pleasure begins to wear thin as she looks after a woman suffering from travel sickness before their trip even begins and tries to cordially deal with an overly amorous Italian pensioner!
I'M OFTEN MISTAKEN FOR ARISTOCRACY
Violet's Country Cottage - A chance to borrow her sister's cottage sets off a grand plan to have a "selected few" guests for a barbeque. Her rural affair calls for the level of intricate planning used by Churchill in the last war. When a single gunshot and a missing dog swell the guest list, Hyacinth takes a shot at some impromptu social climbing.
Driving Mrs. Fortescue - The upper-class Mrs. Fortescue needs a lift to town. This could be Hyacinth's ticket to the ranks of the upper crust. But the ride encounters a few bumps that threaten to bring Hyacinth's social aspirations to a crashing halt.
Country Estate Sale - An estate sale and auction promises Hyacinth the chance to "mingle with the aristocracy" - and leads husband Richard to take drastic measures to keep her from bidding. Meanwhile, Hyacinth's less-than-reputable father is embroiled in a scandal with a married woman that could tarnish the already blemished Bucket name.
HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR HUSBAND'S RETIREMENT
How To Retire Early If You're Not Careful - Now that Richard ahs officially started his early retirement, Hyacinth has great plans for their time together. First there is a trip to the countryside to search for the Iron Age remains, but further cultural excursions are curtailed when Hyacinth's sister, Daisy, and her husband, Onslow, inform her that their sister Rose is behaving in an outrageous manner. As the eldest sister, Hyacinth is called upon to sort things out - preferably before the vicar arrives!
How To Go On Holiday Without Really Trying - If Delia Wheelright can spend a month in the Caribbean, then Hyacinth is determined to go one better - even if it's only better quality holiday brochures, which means a trip to the travel agents for Hyacinth and husband Richard.
What To Wear When Yachting - The opportunity of spending the weekend on a cruiser thrills Hyacinth. But there is so much to arrange in advance - a telephone call to obtain the shipping forecast, purchasing the correct yachting gear for herself and husband Richard, and preparing a "nautical light buffet" to share with family and friends on board.
MY FAMILY IN BROAD DAYLIGHT
Golfing With The Major - Hyacinth's plans for a weekend of social climbing at an exclusive golf resort are thrown into disarray by the scandalous behavior of on of the guests - who turns out to be on of Hyacinth's lower class relatives.
Three-Piece Suite - The delivery of her new three-piece living room set will be an excellent opportunity for Hyacinth to one-up the neighbors. But her plans to stage the delivery bring Hyacinth a load of unwanted attention.
Picnic For Daddy - Hyacinth plans to take her dear demented daddy on a picnic. But first she'll meddle in her sister's affairs. Is the "Butterworth" her sister Rose is breaking up with related to the luxury auto dealers of the same name?
