This book contains my most important life's message.  When I was 18, a freshman in a Baptist college, I heard the Lord speak to me on the first day of class, "The issue of your lifetime will be the Holy Spirit."  This was an unusual word to receive for a young Baptist minister.  Many years later, the first two times I first met John Wimber, both times he heard the audible word of the Lord say regarding me, "He will one  day go around the world laying hands upon pastors and leaders releasing gifts and impartations to them."  Ten years later this season of my life would begin. The word I heard the first day of college definitely has  become true of my life.  I wanted the  message of the book to be biblical, historically illluminating, and inspiring due to the present day stories of impartation recorded in it.  The biblical portion is to lay out the biblical foundation for the teaching regarding impartation.  The historical portion reveals impartation is not a new teaching, but has been part of the history of the church.  The testimonies are to prove that not only is the message biblical it is still for today.  The miraculous aspects of the testimonies reveal the power of the Kingdom of God today that is to accompany the preaching of the gospel. The book is to be a challenge to the cessationist and/or liberal traditions.  But, more importantly it has been used to cause a great hunger in many.  Some pastors upon praying the prayer near the end of the book  have received their own impartation of Holy Spirit's power and gifts.  A few of these are now powerfully being used of God in their denomination or networks throughout the United States and around the world.
