Marie Jubert, a widow in the remote French Fortress of Louisbourg, is horrified to see the schooner Donna Rae put into port. The schooner, in which Marie is a secret investor, has been seized for smuggling, putting Marie's business ventures and her ability to support her two children at risk.

On board the ship is Matthew Cartier, an English Protestant, who is taken to the Fortress Louisbourg as a prisoner. Marie gets close to Matthew, hoping to discover whether or not he knows her secret and will turn her in. In the process, the two are drawn to one another and Marie is torn when her feelings for this stranger conflict with her desire to keep her children out of jeopardy.

About the Author:
Lynn MacKenzie Turner is an author and award-winning screenwriter who also lectures on fiction writing. She's always had a fascination with the ocean, and the maritime traditions of ghost tales and sea chanteys have long since seeped into her blood.

Lynn lives in a century-old house in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. She and her husband, Greg, both graduated from Mount St. Vincent University with degrees in Business Administration.

Cutter's Wake and Growing Attraction are also available.

Review:
ADIEU, MY LOVE is a charming gentle romance which would appeal to readers of any age. Ms. Turner employs a straightforward narrative combined with vibrant characters from the appealing hero and heroine to the abhorrent villains. Elements of suspense compliment a truly romantic theme which will have readers eagerly turning pages to the very end. Recommended! - Melissa Fowler -- Romance Reader Connection, July 1, 2007

The hard-working widow Marie Jubert has survived the death of a husband, single parenthood, a siege, and life with an evil sibling, but it looks as though she might not get through her latest set of problems. The English schooner Donna Rae has been captured, and her crew imprisoned for smuggling. Unbeknownst to the good townspeople, the oh-so-respectable widow is a silent investor in the ship and relies on its smuggling operations to maintain her livelihood. Matthew Carter, one of the arrested sailors, also has a secret. However, once he's farmed out to Marie in a work-release program, he discovers that the widow also is not who she seems to be. The unusual time period, circa 1751, and venue, the French fortress of Louisburg, make for a refreshing historical romance. And tantalizing details, such as those of the cod industry in eighteenth-century Nova Scotia, add to the interest of the well-crafted story. Turner (Cutter's Wake, 2002; Growing Attraction, 2001) has created a richly textured page-turner. - Shelley Mosley -- Booklist, starred review, May 15, 2006
