Scarlett's Heart is a love story between a horse and a girl. Scarlett is a beautiful red roan mare. She and the girl have a special bond of love and respect.
One day the two take a ride. Scarlett inexplicably rears up, throwing the girl to the ground. The girl is badly injured and unable to ride for many months. Meanwhile, Scarlett is sent to the neighbors.
When the girl is finally able to visit Scarlett, she finds the mare will not come to her. The girl realizes Scarlett needs to come home to mend her broken heart.
This heartwarming story is for the young reader and will be especially enjoyed by those who love animals. The story is based, in part, on the author's personal experiences.
