About the Author:

Thomas A. Ruffin ('47) is a retired vice-president of Salomon Smith Barney, Inc., and the author of over seventy-five articles, including an eight-part series on LSU history for LSU Magazine. Jo Jackson is the former University Archivist at LSU, and Mary J. Hebert is the current University Archivist and director of the T. Harry Williams Oral History Center.
