About the Author:
Eric P. Wallace, CPA, is a partner in a large regional public accounting firm, Carbis Walker & Associates, LLP. He has served on the firm's management board and also serves as the firm's construction industry coordinator, where he provides specialized, professional services to many contractors and construction related industries. Mr. Wallace has been an expert witness in construction related court cases in various venues such as bankruptcy, district, and local courts in Colorado, Ohio, and Pennsylvania concerning various tax and accounting issues. He has represented numerous contractor clients before the IRS, U.S. Department of Labor, and various state revenue departments of income, employment, and sales tax. Mr. Wallace has also testified before Congress, the House of Representatives, the Small Business Committee, and the House Ways and Means Committee in efforts to change certain tax issues to benefit small contractors. He has been an author, coauthor or contributor to several tax and accounting publications and courses for CPAs, including the AICPA's "Construction Contractors Industry Developments" and its construction contractors CPE course. Mr. Wallace was a featured panelists on the nationally televised "Accountant's Television Network" program for construction contractors. He is a past Chairman of the PICPA Accounting and Auditing Committee. He has been awarded an AICPA Discussion Leader of the Year Award and an Outstanding Discussion Leader of the Year Award from the state of New Hampshire. He is a member of the AICPA, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Builders and Contractors, the Construction Financial Management Association, the Contractors Association of Western Pennsylvania, and the Masters Builders Association. Mr. Wallace attained his B.S. in Public Accounting from Mesa State College in Colorado.
