Schon has included nonfiction and bilingual (Spanish/English) books and Spanish translations of popular fiction and nonfiction.

Isabel Schon (Ph.D., University of Colorado) is Founding Faculty and Director, Center for the Study of Books in Spanish for Children and Adolescents, California State University, San Marcos. Among her widely acclaimed publications are the Books in Spanish for Children and Young Adults series, A Basic Collection of Children's Books in Spanish, A Bicultural Heritage, and the Hispanic Heritage series (Scarecrow). She won ALA's Grolier Award in 1986 and RASD's Denali Press Award in 1992.
