Lyn Fairchild Hawks writes young adult contemporary fiction and short stories about gifted, weird, and wise teens. She is the author of How Wendy Redbird Dancing Survived the Dark Ages of Nought, a young adult novel, and Minerda, a graphic novella and collaboration with illustrator Robin Follet. Lyn is the 2021 winner of the Norma Fox Mazer Award from Vermont College of Fine Arts' program in Writing for Children and Young Adults, a recipient of an Elizabeth George Foundation grant, and a James Jones First Novel Fellowship contest semifinalist. She is represented by Tara Gelsomino of One Track Literary.
In her other life, Lyn runs Success Story essay consulting, mentors young writers, and writes lessons for teachers. She's written Teaching Julius Caesar: A Differentiated Approach, and is co-author of The Compassionate Classroom: Lessons that Nurture Wisdom and Empathy and Teaching Romeo and Juliet: A Differentiated Approach.
