This book grows out of the Teacher as Learner/Teacher as Researcher Conference held at the University of Calgary in 1983. One strand of the proceedings has been published as Teacher as Learner (1985). The contributors to this companion volume were presenters within the researcher strand of the conference, as well as workshop leaders at that meeting. The intention is not to polarize the functions of teacher and researcher, but to confirm the intimate and important relationship between the two.
