Ears, nose, throat video shows the steps needed to examine the ears, nose, and throat, including demonstration of the proper use of equipment. It shows how to inspect and palpate the patient's ears, including an otoscopic examination, and how to assess the sense of hearing with various techniques.
Heart: shows the steps needed to perform two major parts of the neurologic examination: assessment of mental status and cranial nerves. With the patient seated, it demonstrates how to evaluate the patient's general appearance and behavior, cognitive abilities, emotional stability, and speech and language skills as well as the functioning of all twelve pairs of cranial nerves, using the appropriate equipment. The video shows expected findings in healthy adults and presents variations in assessment techniques and expected findings in pediatric and geriatric patients.
Eyes: shows the steps needed to examine the eyes, including the proper use of equipment. It begins by demonstrating how to test visual acuity. Then with the patient seated, it shows how to perform an external examination of the eyes and eye structures.
