The Clinton Years, part of the publisher's Presidential Profiles series, contains 350 biographies of people who played an important role in the Clinton administration, either directly or indirectly. Alphabetically arranged, each profile includes the person's name, date of birth and (where pertinent) death, and offices held or occupation, followed by a detailed account of the person's contribution to the social or political scene. The volume emphasizes members of the administration and of Congress but also covers world leaders, such as Yasser Arafat and Boris Yeltsin, and individuals caught up in various scandals, such as Monica Lewinsky and James and Susan McDougal.

Biographical profiles are followed by appendixes (a chronology of events during the administration by year, month, and day and a list of U.S. government officials). A selection of primary documents and a bibliography complete the work.
