This study concentrates on Anglo-Scottish diplomatic relations during 1524-1528. It deals with some highlights of the Albany Regency in the introductory section and then covers the nominal elevation of James V to his personal rule in 1524, the actual initial governance by Queen Margaret and the Earl of Arran, and then Angus' seizure of power and dominance until James V ousted him in 1528. Henry VIII and the English were heavily involved in Scottish affairs, hoping to break the Auld Alliance between France and Scotland and to replace French influence in Edinburgh with that of the English.
