Bob is a native Texan from Dallas with a baccalaureate degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Bob is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. He is an award-winning short story writer, has published 5 non-fiction books and has a regular column in the Austin American-Statesman newspaper. And he continues to be a frequent guest lecturer at churches and colleges in the Austin area. Dr. Lively has served as an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church for 22 years. For 13 years he was an adjunct member of the faculty of the seminary from which he graduated. Currently he is on staff at Riverbend Church in Austin, a church of over 6,000 members. Notable accomplishments during his inner city ministry are the establishment of a soup kitchen for the needy, a battered women's shelter and an all-night shelter for the homeless. Dr. Lively's wife is a doctoral candidate at the University of Texas at Austin, and their daughter attended St. Edward's University.
