I’m a military brat (Air Force) and have traveled extensively. My more exciting exploits include attending high school in Okinawa, Japan (Go, Kubasaki!), backpacking around Europe and Scandanavia for several months, a year-long college study in Warsaw, Poland and a wonderful trip to Scotland and Ireland where I fell in love with castle, kilts and brogues.
I have a B.A. in Political Science and Russian Language from Colorado College and a M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. I worked as a correspondent for the international radio station, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty writing hundreds of articles and producing numerous radio programs for eleven years before "retiring" to be a stay-at-home mom and full-time writer in 1999.

"Spencer," Gillian exclaimed in surprise. "Your ankle. Why, it seems to be much better."
"It is," he observed, dropping the wooden ladle into the wine and pouring some into his cup. "That’s rather remarkable."
He turned around to head back his chair when he stumbled. Gillian rushed to his side, throwing an arm around his waist and steadying him. A bit of wine sloshed out of his cup and onto his hand.
"Sorry," he said, looking at her ruefully.
"You mustn’t rush the healing," she chided him.
"Are you saying I must follow the advice of my physician?" he said in amusement.
At that moment, Spencer became acutely conscious that she was pressed firmly against him, her breasts just inches from his fingers. Her chin pressed against his chest and several silky strands of her strawberry-colored hair splayed out against his shirt, a few tickling his jaw. He felt his breathing shift unevenly as he realized how perfectly they seemed to fit together.
Fighting for control, he took a breath, attempting to steady himself. It was a mistake. He drew the scent of her deep into his lungs - an earthy mix of cinnamon, lavender and woman. It made his head weak with pleasure.
I want to kiss her.
He struggled against the thought, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. She didn’t deserve or ask for this. She had aided him when he needed it the most. Was this how he would repay his debt?
"Spencer?" she said, looking at him, her green eyes clouding with concern, her lips parting as she said his name. "Are you unwell?"
There was a soft color in her lips and her skin glowed with pale gold undertones. She looked ethereal, almost waiflike, in the dim light.
Suddenly he felt not only unwell, but fevered. He had a burning desire to taste her, to be damned with convention and yank her toward him, crushing his mouth against hers.
I want to kiss her.
Sweat beaded on his temple. It wouldn’t be proper, it wouldn’t be right. And still, he wanted to do it.
He had to do it.
His resistance crumbled.
