Marc Norberg was born and raised in Sioux Falls, south Dakota, where he began to make photographs at the age of twelve. He currently resides in Minneapolis Minnesota, and specializes in portraiture for editorial, corporate and advertising clients. Marc has shared numerous awards for his work, and has shown nationally. From Library Journal:
Norberg clearly has a thing for the blues. His camera lovingly has captured some 60 practitioners of this most quintessential of American musical genres. Drawing from performers well known and obscure, from the 87-year-old Sunnyland Slim to Canadian newcomer Sue Foley, Norberg shows that the blues doesn't have an age, a color, or a gender. The photos are accompanied by a thumbnail sketch of each artist's career. While these are hardly exhaustive, they do provide the essence of each artist. Along with the book comes a 19-song CD that showcases the many styles of the blues. This combination of photographs, words, and music successfully conveys the power of the blues to the reader. While the price tag may be a little steep for some libraries, those with comprehensive music and photography collections will want to own this book.?Dan Bogey, Clearfield Cty. P.L.
