PreS-Gr 2-Low considers the similarities and differences among three groups of people who live in tropical rain forests around the world: the Mbuti of Africa, the Huaorani of South America, and the Dayak of Borneo. In simple language, he discusses such topics as food, clothing, and travel. The full-color, full-page photographs that face each page of text are adequate, but not particularly informative. The Amazon region has been documented well in books such as Jan Reynolds's Amazon Basin (Harcourt, 1993). What sets Low's book apart from others for children is the author's inclusion of groups other than those from that area. However, the brief, simple text offers only a cursory introduction.-Kathy Piehl, Mankato State University, MN
