Book Description University Press of Hawaii, Honolulu, first edition, 1975, 1975. Laminated boards, 8vo, 24 cm, lxxii, 804 pp. Oceanic linguistics special publications no. 14. This bibliography aims at being widely inclusive. Besides writings on pidgin and creole languages in general and on some marginal aspects of pidginization and creolization, it seeks to list, within reason able limits, all known writings both on and in each language: in the first place, all descriptions or discussions of the language; second, transcriptions of oral texts; third, writings in the language if it has become a literary vehicle. An ex-library copy with some tapemarks to the spine, traces of removed labels on front endpapers, withdrawn stamp on front pastedown endpaper and title-page, tippexed withdrawn stamps on top and bottom edges. Lower foreedge corners (area about 3 inches by 2 inches) throughout book rather stiffened and water-rippled, but without adhering to each other. Some mild staining of page edges on central pages at these corners. For all this, a sound and not bad reference copy. Seller Inventory # ABE-07107
