Thank you so much for taking the time to read Hazardous Duty. I hope you enjoyed the story! I know I've enjoyed getting to know Gabby and the gang. She still surprises me every time I sit down to write her stories!
The idea to write this book first came to me back when I was a reporter. One of my assignments was to interview a crime scene cleaner. I was instantly fascinated, and I knew that crime scene cleaning was the perfect profession for a mystery novel protagonist. The Squeaky Clean series was born.
At the time of writing this letter, there are currently ten books in the Squeaky Clean series. Gabby can't seem to help herself from finding adventure--and trouble--in both her career as a crime scene cleaner and in her life in general.
The next book in this series is Suspicious Minds, where Gabby gets to explore the world of Elvis impersonators. In book three, Organized Grime, she tries to clear her best friend Sierra, after all evidence is pointing to her in a bombing.
Through out the rest of the series, Gabby will help investigate a missing person at a five-star mountain resort, will have an old foe will enter her life and turn everything upside down, she'll be hired to her first cold case, she'll struggle with love and happy-ever-after, and her adventures will even take her out of state and cause her to don a cowboy hat.
I've provided summaries of the books in the pages following this letter. Whatever Squeaky Clean novel you read next, you can be sure it will be filled with mystery, adventure, some romance, a good dose of Gabby humor, and a continuation of Gabby's spiritual journey.
Again dear reader, thank you so much for helping Gabby and her friends come alive.
Many blessings to you,
Buying a gun to kill your wife: $3,000
Hiring Trauma Care to clean afterward: $1,500
Having that same cleaner uncover evidence that frames you: priceless
On her way to completing a degree in forensic science, Gabby St. Claire drops out of school and starts her own crime scene cleaning business. “Yeah, that’s me,” she says, “a crime scene cleaner. People waiting in line behind me who strike up conversations always regret it.”
When a routine cleaning job uncovers a murder weapon the police overlooked, she realizes that the wrong person is in jail. But the owner of the weapon is a powerful foe . . . and willing to do anything to keep Gabby quiet.
With the help of her new neighbor, Riley Thomas, a man whose life and faith fascinate her, Gabby plays the detective to make sure the right person is put behind bars. Can Riley help her before another murder occurs?
“Christy Barritt’s novel, Hazardous Duty, is a delightful read from beginning to end. The story’s fresh, engaging heroine with an unusual occupation hooked me, and I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend Hazardous Duty.”
