The central theological distinctive of Christianity--that Jesus is God incarnate--has repeatedly come under fire from adherents to other religions and scholars who interpret Jesus as a prophet, angel, or guru. Putting Jesus in His Place is designed to introduce Christians to the wealth of biblical teaching on the deity of Christ. Using evidence from the New Testament, this book helps readers appreciate the significance of Christ's deity in a personal relationship with Him, and gives them the confidence to share the truth about Jesus with others. The book is divided into five sections, each corresponding to an aspect of the New Testament's revelation of Jesus as God, and using an acronym based on the letters in the word HANDS:

He holds the M.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, did doctoral studies in Christian apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary, and is a Ph.D. candidate in biblical studies at South African Theological Seminary.
J. Ed Komoszewski is the pastor of Sojourners Church in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He is the co-author of Reinventing Jesus (2006), one of the most critically acclaimed responses to the revisionist Jesus scholarship popularized in The Da Vinci Code. He holds the Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary and has taught biblical and theological studies at Northwestern College.
What Christians have affirmed for nearly two millennia--that Jesus is God--is frequently and openly called into question today. It's natural that those who reject the Bible also reject its exalted view of Christ. But surprisingly, many who embrace the authority of Scripture are quick to argue that Jesus' deity is found nowhere in its pages.
Putting Jesus in His Place demonstrates that the New Testament--from beginning to end--clearly reveals Jesus' divine identity. What's more, it shows that belief in Jesus as God was the conviction of his original Jewish followers, rooted in Old Testament theology and in what Jesus himself said and did.
In a manner that is both academically sound and spiritually engaging, the authors make a case for the deity of Christ that is easy to follow and hard to forget.
