New York, NY/London, England (February 26, 2008) Omnibus Press, the world's leading publisher of rock and pop books has announced the release of the first biography on troubled retro soul diva Amy Winehouse, the recent winner of 5 Grammy Awards. Amy Amy Amy: The Amy Winehouse Story (Omnibus Press; April 1, 2008; 146 pages; $17.95) delves into the life and career of one of today s most brilliant and troubled stars from her early bouts with depression and first gigs with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra to her signing with Island Records at the age of 18 and meteoric rise to stardom. After breaking out with her 2003 award winning album, Frank , Amy quickly became a name to watch. Since then, she s released the massively successful follow-up Back to Black , led by the impossibly catchy and possibly prophetic single, Rehab and has rapidly risen to become of the biggest female artists in the world. With original interviews from figures throughout her career, Amy Amy Amy traces Winehouse s career, her open use of alcohol and drugs and well-publicized problems with anorexia, bulimia and drugs which threaten to obscure her amazing talent. In this absorbing and entertaining biography, London-based author Nick Johnstone writes, That striking picture of Amy outside in the street, outside the place she was staying, near dawn, wearing just a bra, jeans, barefoot in the freezing November air. That picture spoke volumes, reeked of the tragedy that the Amy Winehouse story had become. --Beth Brody
