About the Author:

David P. Moxley, PhD, DPA, ACSW, is the Oklahoma Health Care Authority Medicaid Professor of Health, and Professor of Community Practice and Social Action at the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work, University of Oklahoma, Norman. Over a 35-year career in social work, Dr. David has worked internationally to advance the well-being and quality of life of people who face considerable social challenges inherent in displacement, poverty, and poor health. His background includes service as an educator, researcher, and administrator. Dr. David is the author of "Beyond Oversight: Developing Grassroots Nonprofit Boards for Community and Institutional Change and The Practice of Case Management." He is co-author of "Keeping Students in Higher Education: Successful Practices and Strategies for Retention" and co-editor of the "Sourcebook of Rehabilitation and Mental Health Practice" He has published extensively in social welfare, social work, and social science journals.
