Synopsis

A giant in sexual research--whose work has been compared to that of Kinsey and Masters and Johnson--here sums up a lifetime of clinical and counseling experience, as he explores the many guises of "the unspeakable monster of sex" that controls the destinies of serial lust murderers, rapists, child sex abusers, and others.

Reviews

Sex researcher, social commentator, and prolific author Money (The Adam Principle, Prometheus Bks., 1993) has constructed a synthesis of clinical sexological research. Intended for an audience of professionals and educated lay readers, this work serves much like a training manual to assist interviewers in identifying "unspeakable monsters"-those with camouflaged sexopathologies. Money also offers several explanations of the possible biological disorders and psychological maladaptations involved in the development of a sexopathology. He concludes with a chapter on methods of intervention and treatment. For academics and professionals, Money's book is very informative. Lay readers without knowledge of biology and psychology may find it a bit complex, however. For academic and large public libraries.
