From the Publisher:
Syzygy, pronounced ‘siz-e-je, means yoked together or pulling together in alignment. In this book, syzygy is about relationships aligned positively to produce the greatest power and effectiveness.
It deals with improving one’s relationship with God as well as with other loved ones.
The book’s focus is consistent to its title and thesis. Every chapter is centered around being aligned with God in Christ and through this alignment with the Supreme Syzygy we develop syzygy in other relationships: marriage, family, church, community, friendships, workplace.
Each chapter deals with a specific aspect in life to apply syzygy with God. Chapters are broken into several easy-to-manage sections.
From the Back Cover:
"Ready for a unique spiritual renewal? Johnnie Godwin opens doors for the reader to connect the experiences of life’s journey with the expectations and promises of God as found in the scriptures. Johnnie’s not reticent in challenging the readers to a deeper faith commitment. In doing so, he shares an inspiring personal story of his own pilgrimage with ‘the Difference-Maker.’ Johnnie invites us to journey with the only One who can align our lives in deeply satisfying relationship."
— Arthur O. Van Eck, retired director, New Revised Standard Version Bible Project
"Once again Johnnie Godwin has shown unique insight and creative style in a work that shows people how to mine the gold of positive relationships. Anyone wanting to live a ‘powerfully aligned life’ will greatly benefit from the practical guidance in this book."
— Gary Dyer, First Baptist Church, Midland, Texas
"Johnnie Godwin is a master wordsmith. His fascination with obscure yet meaningful words has never been more evident than with his presentation of Syzygy. As you grapple with the meaning of this unique word, a fresh perspective on the journey of faith should emerge as we discover how to live our lives aligned with God’s call and purpose."
— Wanda S. Lee, Woman’s Missionary Union, Birmingham, Alabama
"Johnnie Godwin has made an attractive proposal: syzygy enriches the lives of individuals and stabilizes the lives of families; it blesses friendships; it empowers churches; and it is even good for businesses. He vindicates his proposal by studies of biblical passages, by stories whose settings range from the grand to the prosaic, and by quotations from persons famous and obscure. From the title to the last chapter, this is a fresh and creative book that will occasionally incite, frequently delight, and always instruct adult Christian readers."
— Fisher Humphreys, Beeson Divinity School, Samford University, and Christian Church of Cottondale, Alabama
