When Ellen White died, she left thousands of pages of personal letters, diary material, sermons, and articles that supplemented topics treated in her published writings. She left these materials in the custody of designated trustees, with the expectation that they might be of value in the future as the church faced new and complex challenges.
Every year since 1941, previously unpublished material has been released by the trustees for general circulation as requested by church workers and others who have researched in the manuscript files.
These manuscript releases cover a wide range of subjects from biblical commentary and devotional items to counsels regarding family life or the management of institutions.
