Synopsis
The book is small enough to carry along with you as a reference. It contains 440 reproductions of every know identifying mark of early American pewterers. The marks are listed by types (bird, crown, etc.) with the makers' names, locations, and working dates. There is an easy to use index arranged alphabetically by maker. The book contains three appendices, Common English Marks, Makers of the Britannia Period (whose touches are not illustrated), and Pewters without Reported Examples. There is also a notes section with interesting facts about pewterers, their marks and their know history.
