Even for a skilled pilot, flying an ultralight aircraft will require some adjustments in attitude. Ultralights are characteristically pusher types, and pilots will not have a solid aircraft nose in front of them to use as reference during takeoff, landing, and maneuvers. While much of this book is good, basic flying information, its special value is in the author's constant reminders of the differences between the operation of conventional aircraft and ultralights. Millspaugh covers the basics of ultralight engines and aircraft aerodynamics, relevant legal and operational restrictions, basic chart reading, and meteorology. His long presentation on flying stands out for its clarity and excellent illustrations. A first-rate introduction to the subject. Roger E. Bilstein, Univ. of HoustonClear Lake
